Cheryl brings over two decades of coaching experience, player development expertise, and a deep commitment to advancing the women's game. Coach Myers currently serves as Director of Coaching at Stars FC, based in Pawling, NY, overseeing club-wide curriculum development, coach education, and player pathway planning for athletes ages 5-18. Coach Myers is known for her player-centric approach, having not only built a reputation for developing high-level athletes, but also confident, resilient young women prepared for collegiate and competitive soccer.
Before Coach Myers's role at Stars FC, she spent over a decade with Manhattan Soccer Club, where she served as Zone Director and Head Coach. During her tenure, Coach Myers led multiple teams to league and tournament championships, including a State Cup title in 2022 and a finalist finish in 2023. Coach Myers' teams have consistently competed at the highest levels of youth soccer, including the ECNL Regional League. Coach Myers also provided her players with invaluable international experience, leading teams to compete in Europe. Training alongside some of the top clubs in the world, while building relationships in England, Germany, Spain, and France.
Coach Myers also brings valuable experience from the pre-professional women's game, having served as an assistant coach in the USL-W League and the U20 USL Academy team, where she helped guide the squad to an undefeated season. Myers is a former Division I player at Northeastern University and a W-League competitor, which has formed her lifelong connection to the game. Coach Myers background also includes experience as an elite referee at the national level, where she received numerous awards, contributing to her unique and comprehensive understanding of soccer from multiple perspectives.
In addition to her coaching credentials, Coach Myers holds a degree in Social Work, is a Certified Mental Performance Coach, and is passionate about supporting the holistic development of her players both on and off the field.
